PENNSYLVANIA D.U.I LAW:
In Pennsylvania, your blood alcohol contact level (BAC) plays a monumental role in determining potential fines, jail time, and license suspensions you may be facing. If you have a BAC of .08 percent or higher, you are considered "intoxicated" for D.U.I. purposes. If you are a minor, a BAC of .02 or greater can constitute intoxication. Consequences for D.U.I. are more serious for higher BAC levels and for multiple offenses.
CONSEQUENCES OF D.U.I. CONVICTIONS:
If you are a first time offender with no criminal history, it is possible that you will face jail, fines, and licenses suspensions. However, you may be eligible for a program where you charge is dismissed in exchange for community service and supervision. If you have been charged with multiple D.U.I.s the consequences are more severe. A second time offender faces increased jail, mandatory jail time and/or house arrest. A third offense may be considered a felony and carry with it a prolonged period of jail time.
If you have been charged with a DUI, the most important thing you can do to give yourself the best chance of minimizing consequences, is to contact an experienced attorney to handle your defense. Contact me at 724-406-0616 for a free consultation.
